St Josephs Year 1 students working towards reconciliation

This film was created to demonstrate to the community the importance of working towards reconciliation between non-Indigenous and Indigenous Australians.

The objectives of the film were to display the unit of work that the St Joey’s Year 1 students contributed towards, based on the Creative Arts components: Visual Arts, Music, Dance and Drama through Aboriginal perspectives.

The unit caters for the range of diverse needs within the classroom, but also allowed all students from multicultural backgrounds to participate in all aspects of learning in a safe and supportive environment.

As a proud Indigenous man, I was really impressed with the outcome of the unit and how well the students responded towards understanding racism, respecting everyone, and caring about all within our schooling environment.
